Overview

The executive team of Taiwanese Junior Chambers of Commerce of North America (TJCCNA) for 2011 – 2012 is proud to announce a local chapter event funding plan to support projects and events organized by TJCC local chapters. The financial support for this funding plan is made possible by a $9,000 donation from the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (WTCC) and a $5,000 donation from Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America (TCCNA). We greatly appreciate the generous financial support for this project from WTCC President Jonathan Huang and TCCNA President Jeff Yao. The TJCCNA Local Chapter Event Funding plan has a total of $14,000 USD to be allocated by application only under certain restrictions and limitations, see below for more detail. All applications submitted by local chapters will be reviewed by the TJCCNA executive team. Submission of an application does not guarantee approval of funding. Final allocation of funding will be decided based on several factors such as event funding impact, quality of the proposed events, etc. Please read the attached rules and guidelines carefully before submitting your local chapter’s application.

Limitations and Requirements

  1. 1.Each TJCC local chapter may submit only one application.
  2. 2.The funding is to be directed towards events and/or projects only. Each application must contain a detailed proposal of the project and/or event that will be organized by your local chapter before the end of 2012.
  3. 3.The proposal must not exceed three pages (single-spaced, letter size, font size 12) and must contain the following information:
  4. 4.The proposed event/project must be relevant to at least one of the following areas:
  5. 5.Social mixers (happy hour, speed dating, karaoke, etc.) are excluded from the funding opportunity.
  6. 6.Upon approval and allocation of funding, an event/project report must be submitted to the TJCCNA executive team within one month after the proposed event day. If any major discrepancy between the actual and the proposed event is found, or any misuse of the funding; the local chapter will be excluded from any funding and/or reimbursement opportunity for a two year period.
  • Amount of Funding Request (how much does your chapter need)
  • Chapter Description that includes the chapter’s mission, brief history, number of members, major projects/events, and the chapter’s annual budget
  • Event/Project Background that tells us why your chapter thinks this event/project is relevant and important to your member, your chapter, and TJCCNA
  • Event/Project Description that includes a brief description of the proposed work: how, when, and where this event and/or project will be executed
  • The expected and intended outcomes of your chapter’s event/project, and how you evaluate those outcomes
  • A proposed budget summary for your chapter’s event/project; please note that the amount of your requested funding must not exceed the total budget of your event.
  • (Optional) Program book, promotion materials, media coverage or presentation of the past events can be included. These supplemental materials are not counted in the page limit.
  • Entrepreneurship,
  • Business networking,
  • Promotion of Taiwanese culture,
  • Charitable causes, or
  • Educational activities.

一、活動目的:為加強海外僑商青年對當前國家政經發展情勢之瞭解,及與
國內企業家第二代密切交流,並深入體驗我國產業發展潛
能,增進對台灣的認同與支持。
二、活動時間:101年6月17日(星期日)至6月22日(星期五),共6天5夜
(6月17日下午報到、22日下午賦歸)。
三、活動對象:
(一)海外學員:海外僑商(含台商)團體成員,年齡介於25歲至
45歲,諳中文,近1年未曾參加海外僑商高階領導班、
台商會會長班、台商會菁英班、海外華裔專業青年研習
會或僑社工作研討會等活動者,並以1會1人為原則;為
配合本會「加強海外華裔青年聯繫服務中程計畫」,以
現任海外青商會會長(或副會長及重要幹部)及預訂於
101年成立青商會之重要幹部為優先。
(二)國內學員:國內企業家第二代,除參加企業家交流座談,並一同
參加6月19日至21日之參訪活動。
四、活動內容:包括專題演講、交流及座談、企業與文化參訪等。
五、住宿地點:龍邦僑園會館(臺北市北投區泉源路25號);惟參訪期間
(6月19日及20日)住宿地點則委由得標之承辦廠商安排。

七、接待方式:
(一)本會部分補助學員由僑居地至台北往返直接航程經濟艙機票費(機
票補助額度表如附件1)。惟缺課達五分之一以上者,除不可抗力
因素外,不補助機票費,亦不核發結業證書。
(二)活動期間學員之膳、宿、交通、課程及保險費(每位學員新台幣
200萬元意外險附加10%意外醫療險),由本會負擔。
(三)活動期間學員之住宿,安排2人1房,限學員本人住宿,禁帶親友同
宿及參加活動;活動日程外之住宿費用,及住宿期間所發生之其
他加值服務費用(如客房服務、電話、傳真、洗衣等個人開銷費
用),由學員自理。
八、推薦注意事項:
(一)推薦時請考量人選之健康情況,如有可能影響活動進行之特殊病史
患者請勿推薦。否則,如因此發生意外事故,應自行負擔醫療費及
返回僑居地等相關費用。
(二)推薦報名表(如附件2)請於101年5月18日前送達本會憑處;至核錄結
果,本會將另行通知。

林宜葆:林書豪成功密碼→正向思維

林宜葆和柯江忠不約而同,都提到「正向思維」是林書豪及所有成功者的密碼。

特地遠自美國北加州到溫哥華參加活動的林宜葆1976年於台北出生,1988年小學畢業,同年移居美國,36歲的她除了擁有國際貿易、美妝、行銷等公司外,並創立了社區化電子商務(Social Shopping)的新興網路事業,並成為擁有逾1500位會員的北美台灣商會聯合總會青商部總會長。

●正向思維 突破困境鐵率

作為亞裔移民的第二代和北美洲亞裔年輕世代的領袖,林宜葆不諱言:「的確我們和林書豪一樣,要面對一些不平衡,包括語言上、文化上和社會的競爭機會上。」然而,不論林書豪、柯江忠和林宜葆都驗證,「正向思維」是突破困境的鐵律。

林宜葆說,林書豪現象的確說明我們不只要堅持,而且「好」並不夠,要「傑出」。「尤其我們有許多方法可以打破藩籬,從普通變成優秀、從優秀變領袖,成為領袖後就擁有機會讓個人和團體創造事業及形成影響力。」

林宜葆嬌小,但擁有典型領袖人物所具有的高能量和感染力。她說尤其要在和主流社會有落差的語言和文化上自我提升。她說:「自我提升不只從書本、影音平台找到成功範例學習,更要自我開放走出去,參與主流社團,展現自我。」

●年輕世代 突破慣性思考

她特別強調華人若消極的自我定位為只求工作溫飽的移民,或是獨善其身的企業家,將無法走出移民在社會上所面對的困境:「在北美,自己生意的成功並不會得到社會的尊敬,若要和他們平起平坐,並贏得尊敬,一定要參與融入非營利組織或是公益活動,並有所貢獻。」

林宜葆特別點出華人社會和企業習慣抱持「年輕人人生經驗不足」的慣性思維。她說:「目前約29到39歲的X世代和更年輕的18到28歲的Y世代,相較於他們的父母嬰兒潮世代,更或是祖父母世代,人生經驗不足,但是創意十足。」林宜葆強調,「X世代和Y世代對資訊的吸收和反應能力快速,並有高度創意性思維,這些都是年輕世代足以改變現狀的能力和潛力所在。」
